I love Silk milk. The coconut is so very good. I look forward to the price dropping in the near future, now it's $4 for a half gallon. Was down to $2.98. What doesn't need to come down right? I use the Dark Chocolate for my cereal. Yummy! They also have the Dk Chocolate/with protein which is fabulous but it's near $5. Can't do that.
I make a protein supplement drink daily using unsweetened coconut milk and unflavored whey protein isolate powder. I have purchased this coconut milk at least once a week for more than a year, unless it was out of stock. It adds a slight coconut flavor without adding sugar or calories. In addition, the protein powder seems to dissolve better in coconut milk than in cows milk, perhaps because of the difference in plant oils vs. animal fats. Whatever the reason, I will continue to purchase this weekly for the foreseeable future.
I use it to make 'over night oatmeal' because it tastes better than regular milk. I also use it for smoothies and protein drinks because it has no sugar, but tastes great.
I cannot drink cow milk and almond and soy milk are not good for my current kidney stone prevention diet. I like drinking this to meet my calcium needs without taking a supplement. Having zero sugar is healthier although not as tasty to me. The coconut flavor enhances my cooking adventures into Asian food and a great fruit smoothie base.
For some time I have been searching for a milk substitute. The nut and goat milks are not for me. Then I found this coconut milk. I love it on my cereal. I enjoy the slight coconut flavor. It is not good for baking.
