My baby had been dealing with gas and fussiness and was on another Similac product (powder form). I switched her to the alimentum ready to feed and she was doing great. Well, I tried the powder formula and she went back to the same issues. The main ingredients are not the same in these products which is why, I'm assuming, she did so poorly. Liquid form was awesome, this powder form needs to be changed big time.

I always used the ready to feed since my LO was 1mo old . LO doctor told us to change milk said first it is very costly and LO has gotten better with her colic. I wanted to do the changes slowly so I decided to just get the powder, I was very disappointed, Wasted my money & how in the world same brand and name but has different ingredients! As soon as I gave it to my LO she started throwing up!

Cannot think similac enough for this product. Having four kids that were all similac babies, I knew similac was the way to go with baby number 5. At one month old she was diagnosed with a milk allergy and we were given this product to try. Went straight to the ready to feed, as that was recommended. Baby took right to it, and it worked wonders, fast!! Now, 7 months in, the cost is outrageous. I wish there was an alternative. Tried to introduce the powder version and still at 7 months she can't tolerate it at all. Not sure why the ready to feed works so much better. I would recommend this product, just not the price.. Going through a quart a day is starting to break the bank..

Alimentum was recommended to be used until my baby is one year old due to being milk protein intolerant. It works well and he hasn't had any issues so far. The only downsides are the 8oz cans and the price. I would really like to see Abbott provide Similac Alimentum in the 8oz bottles just as they do with Similac Advance and Similac Sensitive. It would be easier to store or to serve right away.

Starting at 2 months, my daughter became what the doctor called a 'spitty baby'. Since she was my 3rd child, I thought that I knew more than the average first time parent, and I knew there was more to the constant, non-stop throwing up and spitting up. My daughter was very happy and didn't cry while spitting up, so the pediatrician didn't think GERD was the problem. I was breastfeeding, and during all of this, I quit consuming dairy, thinking maybe that was it, but nothing helped. I stopped nursing at 7 months because she was spitting up less on the soy formula. From 3-9 months I had made countless calls and emails to the doctor office regarding her constant throw up, to which each time I was told she's just a 'spitty baby', it's a laundry problem. At 9 months, we went in for her check up to discover she had not grown in 3 months. Not even an ounce in three months. We were now in a failure to thrive situation. We were referred to a Pediatric Dietician and Pediatric GI Specialist. During our very first visit the Dietician and GI Specialist suggested trying Alimentum. We noticed an immediate change even mixing the bottles 50/50 with her other formula during a transition period. We are now almost a full month into using Alimentum and I have a happy, non-spitting baby. The doctors believe that she has MSPI (Milk/Soy Protein Intolerance). We hope that she outgrows this, but in the meantime we have Alimentum that has saved our sanity, our little girl (who is gaining weight!!) and our washing machine as well! :) Thank you so very much Similac for having an easily accessible product. Although I do wish it was more affordable!
