SINGER® Professional™ 9100 Sewing Machine

I grew up sewing on singer sewing machines, but was talked in buying another fancy brand after my old machine wore out. My other brand with all the fancy attached parts is going on a "for sale" site. Love sewing on singers. They are simple and straightforward to use.

I bought my Singer Professional sewing machine in April 2014. When I first received the machine I LOVED it. I have probably put less than 16 hours on this machine in the last year and a half, doing pretty basic sewing projects. Today I go to turn on my sewing machine and it is going crazy. By this I mean that the display is showing every image and the machine is making a horrible noise as the needle is shaking back and forth. I tried everything I could possibly think of and there is not a remedy in the instruction manual for this problem. I even called Singer and they did not have any advice for me. I then went to our local sewing shop to see if they could fix it. Unfortunately there is no fix for this "mother board" failure. I ended up buying a Janome and am hopeful it will last me longer than 1 1/2 years. I am hoping I can take this machine back to Walmart and get my money back as an almost $300 sewing machine should last longer in my opinion.

Of course Singer has always been a preferred brand. This is my second Singer machine. I decided to go with an electronic machine because I had a hard time keeping everything balanced in my older model. This one you can hear set correctly as soon as you turn it on. The dvd that comes with it shows a lot of ways to hem and use the features on this machine. The machine is lighter than my old one. It also has a nice bright light to help you see. I also love that it is so quiet! I cannot wait to use this to quilt.

I bought this as a backup machine and I couldn't even use it. The needle strikes the needle plate and the automatic threader doesn't work. For the same price I can get a brother machine that has an automatic thread cutter and a way less complicated way to load and wind bobbins.

Singer made it easy to learn how to use this machine.The manual is step by step easy.The bobbin is very easy to wind.The features of this machine goes beyond what I expected. Looks good works good.Haven't used all the features yet but the one that I bought this machine for are great.When I bought was $40.00 off, so got a good deal also. Would recommend to anyone looking for a sewing machine.I have an old Singer that my feet are the power. Love my new Singer!
