Sony - BDP-S6700 Streaming 4K Upscaling Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player - Black

Needed an upgrade to years old DVD player in order to improve picture and sound quality. I just did a test run and am very pleased with both. For an affordable, dependable product, I thank you.

Worked only four weeks. Then it started freezing mid-stream, had to re-enter the code sometimes seven times in one day. It is a piece of badly made electronics. We bought three of them successively. All had the same problems.

The product came as advertised. I have tried it out on both a blu ray DVD and a conventional DVD and it worked flawlessly. Excellent picture and very good sound.

This is a budget DVD player. I bought this for the upscaling but haven't seen anything noticeable. Pros: Easy setup. The player works fine for DVDs, Blu-rays and musical CDs. It's inexpensive. It's Sony so performance and reliability should be solid. Cons: This feels like an older model. The build is kind of flimsy. Don't expect to use it for streaming as there are limited options. Youtube streaming quality is mediocre at best. Menu navigation is clunky.

This player has beautiful playback for older dvd's and blu ray disc's. However, no matter what I do it will not play any 4k disc I put into it. Which was the whole reason for getting it. I have a 4k tv, I bought a 4k capable hdmi cable, it is hooked up in the proper port on the TV but still no go. It absolutely refuses to read any 4k disc. I know the disc's are good because the will play on other players, even on the same TV. I am returning this player and getting a different one. Too bad because I usually love sony products!
