I would like a new product that operates like it is supposed to..
This is my first ebook reader. I've had it for about 7 weeks. All the reviews sounded good so i bought a blue one for myself and a silver one for my grandmother. We both really love them. It's comfortable and easy to use. The ability to synchronize the Reader Library on the computer with the Reader device is kind of inconvenient when two people use the same computer. But overall i'm super happy with it. The e-ink makes it easy to read. It supports multiple file formats and holds a ton of books. It's one of the coolest things i've ever bought.
Protects the e-reader excellently and looks great in the dark blue, almost looks dark purple.
An avid book fan, I hesitated to enter the e-book market. Looking at a screen will never rival the feel, smell and overall experience of a printed book. However, since my purchase of the this Sony e-reader, I've discovered these devices may have a place in a frequent reader's life. Pros: Easy-to-read screen; Holds enough material for even the most avid readers; great navigation and intuitive controls. Cons: Afraid to read in the tub or by the pool; books can actually cost more than the printed edition. The PRS-300 arrived ahead of schedule, and I was excited to see what books I could load it up with. I started with the free selections from Project Gutenberg and from sources like barnesandnoble.com. I also made a purchase from the Reader Store to try a new release. All of these were easily managed with either the included software, or with the shareware program Calibre. I've compared this to the Kindle my friend owns, and have to say I think I made the better choice. The Sony is smaller and thus easier to carry around. Its library is not controlled by a third party (Amazon retains strict control of the materials you "purchase" (more like borrow) from them). Nice device, nice price. It will be going with me on future vacations while the heavier printed books stay home.
It came in a timely matter. Was surprised how good it was. The Other ebooks are not in my price range and i would love to have one. But this one is just fine. I love it.
