Very handy unit and looks sharp

I was very disappointed in the quality, the melamine coating is very thin and had many defects/chips. I feel they cut corners by not covering the inside of the drawer face with melamine, it's just the cheap particle board. Some boards were not labeled so we had to guess what they were and the instructions lacked. In the pictures, it's very hard to differentiate between a wood dowel and a plastic dowel. I know the instructions are pictures so it's multilingual but some words would be helpful. I gave it two stars because the size and design of this sewing table are good but I definitely wouldn't recommend South Shore to anyone. I did have my eye on a couple more items but because the quality of this desk was so poor, I won't be purchasing anything else.

This desk is huge! I put it together by myself, but another pair of hands would have been helpful. It took me about three hours. I like the desk a lot-the space to store my sewing machine sold me on it. The only design flaw is that the shallow top drawer has no back on it. Things would slide to the back and fall down behind the drawers below. I tacked a strip of wood to the back of the drawer and solved that, but it would be nice it that was remedied.

Save yourself some time and aggravation and buy something from IKEA. This item is a complete pain in the neck to try to put together. Missing pieces. Pieces are not marked or look anything like the pieces on the instructions. Instructions are just pictures-that are not too clear to begin with-and no written instructions.

This is a very nice, sturdy table. Lots of storage space. My husband said it was easy to put together. About 3 or 4 assemblies and then the whole thing went together. I only had to help once when he was puttin in the sliding part on the right hand side. Some of the drawers don't glide real easily but all in all it's very nice.
