My 7-yr old son had trouble making baskets before. He was very excited to receive the "Rookie ball". Just knowing that he was using the "Rookie ball" gave him encouragement to work harder and practice, whereas previously he just got discouraged. The only thing I would do differently next time, is I would get the multi-colored ball. Not only is it easier to recognize which ball is yours among many; but more importantly, when he was taught to try to put a backspin on his shots, it would have been easier to see if he actually got the backspin right. In fact, we love this ball so much, we may just get another one, this time the multi-color version.
