Remington Smooth & Silky MPT3500 - Trimmer

Just bought my 3rd one because the package claimed an improved product. The motor wears out after a few uses. It stalls while using or just won't run at all even with a new battery. Too bad. The blades do a great trimming job when it runs. Seems like the engineers could improve the motor performance.

I have purchased 3 of these in the last year because they perform well. However, I only use it for less than one minute - once a week and after the first 2 weeks I find myself having to thump it or tap it on the counter to get it to start working and that only works for a few months. I have been looking for something similar with a longer life span.

I don't what they did to wring more power from the same little battery without decreasing it's lifespan but let me say this . . WOW. The difference is like Popeye eating spinach. If the thick bush of hair that used to grow from your head now grows from your ears and nose (yuck), then help is here. Do you have eyebrows that scare eligible single women, pets and children? Nose hairs that look like a wet poodle stuck in the doggie door? Those days are done! What a beautiful job of quickly mowing through the dense patch of timber-hair located in the southern button region of the chin. Under tremendous stress, I expected to see the little motor cover smoking with sparks and flames shooting out. But no, the MPT 3500 stays cool to the touch, ready for the next follicle encounter. My only suggestion is: Lean forward when using to keep the hair “pepper” from falling on your shirt and grossing people out when they meet you face to face.

The trimmer performs very well and does exactly as described. I really like the performance. The manufacturing quality is very filmsy and cheap. I would be willing to pay $5 or $8 more for the same product but manufactured with better materials that would last a while. Right now I am fearfull at any point its going to break.

fine for trips and touch ups. Would be great in purse or desk at work. I went to a plug in rechargeable one for home use.
