This Spiegel 3201 is perfect for all my sewing on light weight fabric to denim! It has a free arm that enables you to work on pant legs or sleeves or any hard to reach places. It goes from a simple zig zag to practically any decorative stitch you could want. The machine is quiet, light weight with a carrying handle, has a reverse switch and foot peddle, has an automatic needle threader, and step by step threading marked on the machine itself. The accessories are all included in a large removable accessory tray. The Instruction booklet is fairly easy to understand and helpful.

I received this machine in return for my honest review. It has so many features for beginners or veteran users. It is lightweight,easy to thread with diagrams numbered on it for threading the bobbin,the upper needle,inserting the bobbin. It has an automatic needle threader but I was not able to get the hang of it. I'll call customer service one day. It has a very good instruction book,and there are youtube videos on it.It. I bought a Kenmore in 1967,a basic machine for $69.I onl used it for mending torn seams,making curtains,pillows,taking garments in,making elastic waist pans for my daughter. I'm 69 years old and I never had a sewing class. I'm alone now so I gave that machine away. This has an LED light,an on off switch,reverse switch in front, it's quiet,doesn't take off when you step on the foot pedal, It has 32 different stitches,length and width adjustments,all pictured on the front and three dials on the top to pick them and also adjust tension. It has a utility box that snaps on the front of the machine to hold all the accessories that it comes with, when you remove it you are able to slip pant legs or sleeves over ,the machine to sew without bunching up fabric. None of these were featured on my old Kenmore. I already took in some pants and made an animal bed pad.I ltried a few decorative stitches on an old sheet. I'm going to be using this a lot this winter.

I use to have a Singer, but when I moved, I had to sell it. This machine is just as good, maybe better, as I love all the decorative stitches, and comes with several needed accessories. The features are wonderful, such as automatic needle threader, drop-in bobbin, free arm and reverse sewing lever. I highly recommend this machine to a novice, or even the experienced. And I might add, a very pretty machine!!
