For the price it’s pretty good, it’s sturdy when you get comfortable on it and balance yourself. I placed a tall chair in front of me for the first few workouts to place my hands out the tall back seat part . My only dislike is it started to squeal/squeak. I have greased and WD40 and the noise will not go away. Makes the workout so much less enjoyable. You do need to give the springs a rest, which I made into a workout . I would do 15 mins and let the springs rest for 5 mins while I did arm weights or body strength training. Repeat.
The build quality seems pretty good for this price point. Only issue is, the knee pain. The posture while using this product makes a really good amount of stress on the knees. after few days of use, I had to stop because of the pain in knees. This may vary person to person so try it out before making a purchase.
It definitely works the legs. Would be better if it was adjustable because it's a little stiff. I work in an office and sit at a desk all day. I needed something to try to give my legs a little exercise while I'm working. I placed it underneath my desk and work out while I'm sitting down. I know that's not how you're supposed to use it but it is working. My leg muscles are are firming up quite nicely.
If you've used steppers to get around the ridiculous space requirements of even a small treadmill then you know how convenient they are. I keep mine right under my Papasan or my Workstation and bring it out whenever I'm watching CrunchyRoll. I'm doing 2,000+ reps without breaks between at the moment while using a 45lb Golds Gym Forearm Trainer at the same time for 2,200+ reps on it as well. It's really convenient and I can get 2,000+ reps with each in under an hour watching CrunchyRoll. The only thing you have to watch is the welds that hold the pulley in place . Depending on their quality they can break as a great many have on Amazon's reviews of other stepper models from different companies. This on is not Spot Welded like the other models though. Plus it made the Top 5 Reviews from LiveStrong.com and that's against some $400+ competition. It's compact, under 15lbs and built very well. So if your looking for a quality treadmill alternative that's also safer for anyone with knee injuries. Drop by live strong and read over their Treadmill V.S. Stepper article. The stepper wins every time, unless it's a twist stepper which will agitate knee injuries. Golds Gym was smarter than that fortunately!!! ^_^
I was hesitant about buying this stepper as I have some minor balance issues. This stepper has no rails to help stabilize the user. But I chose it because its size which makes it easy to move or store. I use a simple walker to serve as the lacking side rails. I extended the legs to bring the walker to a height that is comfortable while standing on the stepper. It works very well to help me maintain my balance. This stepper would not be appropriate for anyone with serious balance issue ... i.e. anyone who uses a walker regularly. It is easy to use, comes completely assembled and ready to go. When I pulled it from the box, I did have to make sure the cable was aligned with the pulley beneath the pedals. Once the pedals are in position, one up and the other down, the cable stays in position easily. I weigh just under 200 lbs and it works well for me.
