Returning victorious from the bat'telh competition, Worf (Michael Dorn) becomes dizzy and learns that he received a concussion during the tournament though he has no memory of it. When he checks his trophy he discovers that rather than winning the event, he came in ninth. As his memory lapses increase, it appears that reality is changing around him though no one else seems to notice. When Data (Brent Spiner) searches for an explanation, he notices a quantum flux in Worf's subatomic particles which makes him asynchronous with normal matter. In essence, this Worf is from a parallel universe -- and now they must find a way to send him back to protect the space-time continuum!.
