Starbucks Papua New Guinea Coffee Beans - 16 oz (1 lbs) 543 grams Crisp red bell pepper and freshly cut herbs. Papua New Guinea is in many respects considered "the last frontier." Located just south of the equator and about 150 km north of the Australian coast, this remote island is so far and isolated that it can take multiple days to get to the coffee growing regions. Local coffee industry consists of many small holders and a few large estates. Coffee is grown in administrative divisions or provinces but the vast majority of the production is located in the Western and Eastern Highlands province, where this coffee comes from. PNG's fertile volcanic soils, mild tropical weather, altitude and overall conditions are optimal for the production of some spectacular coffees with pronounced herbal and juicy red fruit notes with a floral background.
