Would not even recommend this phone to an enemy! A piece of junk. Keeps dropping calls and never thought that could happen on Verizon's towers, texting is difficult, won't let me send photo texts or upload pics to facebook and can't get any help from either Straight Talk, LG or the useless insurance I purchased for this phone. Have to buy another phone now and you can bet your boots it won't be an LG, but instead a Samsung. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE.
I needed a replacement for my broken LG phone. I bought this because it's a touch screen phone and works on the $30 plan. It took several attempts before I could activate it but eventually started working. I tried calling my straight talk voicemail and when I entered my password via the touch screen, the system didn't recognize the tones. Tried multiple times and several calls with no luck. I then tried another automated system that requires a touch tone password and it does the same thing. Not much use having a phone that can't access your voicemail. Imagine trying to call any customer service system with this phone. Another thing I found frustrating is the fact that in order to use the speaker phone, you have to answer the phone, then go thru two different screens and turn it on every time you answer. Every other LG phone I've owned let you turn the speaker phone on and leave it. And most annoying of all is the default setting with a woman's voice that says every command you input out loud. Definitely going to return it for a refund.
I have bought this phone twice now. The second time out of shear stupidity and a short memory. The first one last for most of a year. It was time to replace a broken phone and this one was cheap at the time. $60 +/-. I wanted a phone that used a $30 card. The problems with the phone kept growing with the final problem being unable to unlock the phone even if I swiped across the screen 50 times. That was enough to trash it. I bought another Straight Talk slider phone that lasted a couple of months. Then back to Walmart for another phone. I saw the 305 again for $30 forgetting all the problems I had before. I am finishing my first month and I am getting rid of it. List of problems include dropping calls repeatedly. At the end, a call couldn't last more than 1-2 minutes. Friends kept telling me about a horrible echo ALL THE TIME. Not being able to unlock my phone when I wanted to. Battery life was good. That's about the only positive thing going for it and being on the Verizon network. Save your money and buy a better phone because this on is garbage.
If all someone needed it for was calling and/or texting.. it would do the trick. Just don't try to get on the web, transfer music or anything else. It isn't worth it. Spend the money for a better one if you want to do anything other than call or text. Waste of my money. Grandson won't use it so I am upgrading to a different company and getting a better phone. Going to give him mine. Should have saved the 29.88 and used it on something we could actually use.
This touchscreen phone can do more than the basics if you do a little research online. If you go to http://boostapps.com with the phone's browser you can get free mobile java apps, such as Opera Mini browser and Google maps. With Opera Mini you can surf the net with ease. A Facebook app is already included on the phone; it's more basic but certainly keeps you up to speed on your daily newsfeed. This phone takes decent pictures that when bluetoothed to a computer or tablet have pretty good clarity. I actually downgraded when I bought this phone a month ago because I was tired of paying $45 a month for things I didn't need or use; I already have a tablet to play games on. For $30 a month you can do tons of talking and texting and online surfing (unlimited if you have wifi!) to keep in touch with friends and entertain yourself. This phone performs well and I'm very happy with my purchase.
