I bought Straight Talk after my grandson, who worked at Radio Shack at the time, told me about it. He wanted me to upgrade from my Trac Phone where I had to buy minutes all the time, but 1 thing I did not want was a contract. He was impressed and this product delivers all it says. The service is great and I never have dropped calls. Where else can you have unlimited everything for approx. $45-$48 a month? Best Decision I have made in a long time. Easy to buy and easy to install. Thank you.
Only 2 purchases a year for the best service ever! I hear friends complaining about their $80.00+ per month bills and lousy reception, lack of internet connection and lost signals. The 180 day option is great, paying less than $42.00 a month for total service and being able to purchase online and activate myself or call a number and have a customer service person so kindly do the activation is a plus! I've had Straight Talk for just under 180 days and purchased another 180 days, this time online. The purchase was flawless, directions sent to my email was a bit unclear, view gift or send gift was confusing. Better choice of words would be view my purchase or send gift. I viewed gift and got the info to add 180 days to my existing days. Great thing is I can add any of the packages at any time and it will be added to what your remaking available time. I'm impressed and brag about how easy the purchase was and how easy it was to activate!
I moved over from ATT to Straight Talk. I see no difference between the two except for price! I am paying a lot less now than I was with ATT but the service has not changed. I still get a strong signal and can do what I used to do with ATT but at a lot lesser price. The service seems to take just a wee bit longer - in other words sometimes I seem to get a delay, but other than that, it is fine. So far, so good.
This is an excellent product. I was very, very hesitant to switch to Straight Talk from Verizon. I bought an unlocked GSM phone thinking that I would get decent service with T-mobile. The service is horrendous where I live. The more i learned about Straight Talk I, i got both optimistic and pessimistic. It seems that my un-locked phone would pull service from both AT&T towers and T-mobile towers, but the customer service would leave anyone licking their wounds. I took the plunge and did EVERYTHING to initiate service online - got the sim card and starting month card from Straight Talk's website, and then bought my 6 month card from Walmart.com. I am truly amazed at how well things have turned out. My phone number was ported from Verizon in less than 2 hours. NOTE: if you decide to port your phone number never do it on a weekend! With a few exceptions, a weekend port won't be resolved before the business week starts. I ported mine on a Tuesday. I would recommend any day except Saturday, Sunday, Monday, or a holiday. I can't say enough about the high quality of the coverage area. I live in a relatively rural area. My friends and family and I have grown up simply understanding that Verizon coverage exists in certain areas. It was a fact of life. But, the veil has been lifted. I get better coverage now than anyone I know. It's not even close. I can't say you will have the same results, due to tower locationing in your area. But, If you are a customer who is at least somewhat tech savvy (and DOES NOT require customer service assistance much), then you are shooting yourself in the foot if you do not get Straight Talk. So, what you need to do is educate yourself about the difference between GSM phones and CDMA phones, determine who provides the best coverage in your area Verizon/Sprint or A&T/T-Mobile, buy an UN-LOCKED phone from a reputable dealer, and then buy the starter kit from Straight Talk. By saving on my plan alone, my LG G2 will be paid for in 1 year (actually about 10 months). After 1 year on a contract plan, I would still be paying twice as much or more for the same plan, with the same or less coverage, and my phone would be compatible only with my contract carrier's network (unless I were educated enough to un-lock it myself, which I'm not). There are no disappointments here.
I never received the code I needed to charge my phone. I had to make several calls and emails to learn I had to go to walmart.com and find my online purchase. from now on i would just go to the store.
