We bought these shoes to be pool shoes and sandals. They have been ok sandals but I wouldn’t call them water shoes. They usually take at least two days to dry. We have regular non water shoes that dry much faster. Her particular shoe was also the color changing shoe. It changed colors a few times at the beginning of summer but have stopped doing that as well and remain white. Overall, not worth the price.
Easy to put on and my 17 month old doesn’t complain even when they are still wet. Dries slower than I would like but he doesn’t seem to mind. I only put them on him when we are going in the backyard to play with the water table and kiddie pool and he loves water. Shoes offer good traction in the kiddie pool.
These worked great for the summer 13 mo thru 17 mo old. She could get them off by herself. Loved wearing them. Now it's getting too cold and she's getting too big for them. One star off cause they really started to stink and make her feet stink!
After trying numerous brands of shoes for new walkers, I have found that Stride Rite's Soft Motion line has the best design for foot development and development of walking skills. Their soles have the durability of other rubber-soled shoes, but the flexibility crucial to development typical of soft-soled shoes that are not durable enough for wear outdoors. The Splash Sandal is a great summer option. My only complaint about the product is that it takes a long time for the insoles to dry out since they are memory foam. After 24 hours over an air vent after use playing at a splash table, the insoles were still wet to the point of being unwearable. I threw them in the drier on medium-high with a bath towel to muffle their clomping around inside the drier- this dried them sufficiently and they were not damaged. I also wish Stride Rite kept a greater stock of their styles; I returned the original pair I had bought that ended up being a size too big, but by the time I went to select the replacement pair, the rainbow color was sold out in my child's size.
We used ours for less than a month. Then they started to fray a little. After two weeks at the beach they were shedding bits everywhere. I just threw them away at less than two months old. Other than the material around the edges falling apart, they were great!
