Ingenuity Doorway 42W Series Dog and Baby Gate - Espresso

At first I thought the gate wasn't going to install properly, and then I realized I hadn't followed the directions exactly as written! If you follow them to a T, then it installs flawlessly. The gate works excellently and is very solid. Definitely keeps my kiddos out and in, depending on where I need them to be. My only complaint is that the decoration panel (which is basically the center of the entire door) is a pliable plastic; I think it would look nicer if metal. Hopefully it holds up over time and doesn't break, which would render this thing useless.

Bought this gate to keep our toddler from roaming the house at night. Unfortunately this gate will not fit our door way. I have tried no extenders and that is too short but when I put one extended on it then becomes too wide for the doorway. Ended up having to spend more money on a different gate that would work. Biggest waste of money, as now it just sits in a closet.

I bought two of these gates to keep my dogs out of the guest rooms without having to keep the doors closed, the doors come lopsided on purpose so that they can apply pressure appropriately, however, once the gate is installed using pressure it does not straighten out. I spent over an hour trying to install each gate and ultimately had to install the product from the top first to get it to straighten out which is opposite of the instruction manual. Each screw has a notch in it that keeps you from being able to put more pressure, rather the screw just starts to spin so the top is now level and tight but the bottom is loose. The gate is very attractive but with the difficulty of installation I wish I had just bought the cheap plastic gate.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this gate about a month ago. I have been every pleased with the gate. It was easy to assemble and put up. I liked that it has multiple mounting options, one without needing to screw into the walls and one with the option to screw into the walls. The hands free close feature is excellent as well as the ability for the gate to remain open. The color and design of the gate is modern. The only drawback is that the extensions are the same size was it not adjustable to as many different opening sizes as it could if the extension pieces were different sizes. Overall, a great gate for a great prices.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using this gate for about a month at the top of our stairs. It is really stylish and goes well with our decor. The only thing I don't like about it's appearance is that the lattice inlay is plastic while the rest of the gate is metal. I love the auto close feature for when my hands are full. You can also push it all the way open at it will lock it into place and keep it open. This gate has been a game changer for us, allowing us to let our 16 month old roam more freely when we are all upstairs. Our 3.5 year old has also accepted the boundary, even though I know he would be able to open it if he tried. Also, it was very easy to install.
