My son is two years old. I have been using this mat since he could sit in a resturaunt high chair. I even started using it at home. The mat is non slip material so when I feed my son things in a bowl the bowl does not move around while he is learning to use his spoon. I am now buying another one. This is a great gift idea for a baby shower. That is wear I got mine.

I was hoping that this product would work for me, but it didn't. I couldn't get it to lay flat on the table after being rolled up in the box. My plan was to use it at home as a placemat as we graduated my toddler from the high chair to the dinner table, as well as for traveling/eating out. The product information said to wet the suction cups to help it stick better to non-smooth surfaces, however, our kitchen table is wood, and putting moisture directly on it would ruin it. I tried using plastic wrap as an in-between surface, and I tried putting the mat upside down under a text book to flatten it, but neither of those tactics worked either. Instead, I'm going to use a mat I purchased to put under our cats' food bowls at home when the time comes and continue using a booster seat with its own tray for travel/eating out.

This is a far better option than putting food on the table for a toddler. We can't let our 21 month old have a heavy plate full of food, so we need to cut things up and put small amounts in front of him. This placemat is a far more sanitary option. The only issue we have had is that this mat is not nearly as flat on the table as the picture indicates. Once we washed it, it doesn't roll up as nicely as they say it does in the diaper bag. And, it is hard to straighten out on the table. There are suction cups on the bottom (which is a great idea), but it makes the mat uneven when putting food on it.

We bought this for our little grandson. My daughter now has a means to protect her table and also a clean area if they go out to dine. Spills are contained and the mat rolls up for easy travel.

This seems to catch most of the food and is a simple solution to eating out. It rolls up pretty well (into the curved food catcher part). I use it for my toddler to avoid food touching the table germs.
