Summer Infant Deluxe Day and Night Handheld Color Video Monitor with 2.5" Screen, Blue (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I ordered this product because no one sold video baby monitors in our area. I read the reviews and decided that this one is right for us...having said that as soon as we got it, we felt like we were going to break it to get the stand out of the handheld. The belt clip worked great, just the stand was stuck, so we had to take it off and adjust it, but it works great now. As far as the camera, it works great...only thought we were going to break it when we tried extending it. I kinda wish we could get a few different angles with it, but it works great and the picture is clear, even with the night vision.

So this is a rather pricey baby monitor, but if you can afford it, you should definitely invest in this one! The extra large 2.5" screen allows you to view your baby clearly, whether daytime or night. Set up is easy - just plug it in and charge it up like a cell phone; no extra batteries required. The screen saver feature saves the battery - the picture turns off until you press a button to turn it back on again. It picks up your baby's slightest whimper, and it has a very good range. I took this outside, all the way down my long driveway to get the mail, and I could still hear and see my baby perfectly. This monitor gives my husband and me great peace of mind. Buy it!!!

I have one son, Jack has been a sick baby almost from birth. He had pyloric stenosis which made him spit up a lot, and cold after cold. It is wonderful to just be able to wake up during the night and look and see him, rather than go in and wake him up. The sound quality is so good that I can actually hear him breathing perfectly. We do have kind of a cheap cordless phone so that does interfere with signal but when we were reading the directions it warned us that it's common. But seriously a new mom should not live without this product.

My husband actually had to talk me into this because I didn't see the point of having a monitor...I thought it was a bit much but I'm so glad we got it. It is very nice to just push a button and be able to see her. I like checking it before I fall asleep to make sure she is snoozing and not about to start screaming! I feel that it is worth the money to upgrade to a video monitor. This one is nice because the monitor is handheld and very portable. It was super easy to set up and we have never had a problem with it and have had it for about 6 months.

I like being able to just look at the monitor and see what my son is doing. I bought the one with the smaller screen first...and I say, go ahead and spend the few extra dollars and get this one. The screen is much better. There are other video monitors out there with huge screens, and I debated about getting one of them, but I am happy with this one since I can carry it from room to room. The only thing that I have not been too happy with is that it says it is black and white at night--but in reality, the room has to be really bright to get a colored picture. So, about 99% of the time, ours in black and white. Also, if it had a zoom feature, that would be nice. I feel that for the price, it should have something like that. Being able to see the baby up close would be helpful. We have ours high enough that it shows the whole crib. Since it is so far away, the only way that you can tell that our baby is sleeping is if he isn't wiggling! You can't really see his eyes to tell if they are closed or not.
