Summer Super Wide Custom Fit Gate

My husband installed this gate very easily. It is superior quality, and I really appreciate that the gate sits ON the floor, as opposed to 1+ inches above the floor. (We converted our den into a playroom, so with the gate being on the floor, no toys get stuck under or on the other side of the gate.) Plus, the gate is made of soft mesh (as opposed to cold, hard bars or wooden X's). The swing gate is SUPER EASY to open and shut (for parent, not for baby). Highly recommend. This gate is DEFINITELY worth the extra money. :D You can also use this gate to turn a corner into a play area, or you can purchase 2 of these gates and make a play yard (like the Super XT play yard). I think this is the longest gate on the market (144" length max.).

I like the gate because it covers the area that I need. Plus, it actually worked on an uneven opening, which I needed. The one thing I don't like is that it is a bit flimsy in the middle so my kids could push on it and it would move (although I don't think it would break). So far they haven't done that, so we'll see.

If you have an opening to big, or odd shaped for other baby gates this is the one for you, there are so many different ways to position and set the length to that if you can't get this one to fit, you'll never find one to fit! It was pretty simple to install, but you may need a drill. Either way, A must buy!

Our 18 month-old toddler is a big guy, and he's beginning to climb and push and pull on things. We moved to a new place with a much larger kitchen, and instead of blocking him from the kitchen with a simple doorway gate, we wanted to give him some access to the larger space to play, and be with us while we were in the kitchen. We also still wanted to block him from the fridge, the oven. and everything else dangerous. This gate system is simply awesome! We use it at full extension on one end, and almost full extension on the other. Each side is at 90 degrees, and the door is at 45 degrees in between. If you don't have perfectly square walls, the wall template they give you is useless. Just set the gate up the way you want with all the parts put together, and then mark the outline of each mount on the wall. Then you can disassemble the mounts and mark the holes on the wall. We had to use a small block of wood as a spacer between one of the mounts and the wall because our walls are a bit slanted, but it worked beautifully. Useful hints for making the gate as solid as it can be, is to ensure the extensions and joints are locked, and to use something to immobilize the feet supporting the side panels on each side of the door. We have wood floors, and we just stapled two nylobn straps on either side of each foot snugly to the floor, and this thing is solid! Our son is pretty smart, and he has studied how we open and close the gate, but there's no way he can do it on his own. We have been so impressed with this product, that we felt we should share our experience with other parents who might be considering buying it. GO FOR IT.

We love this gate! We have an open floorplan with an L shaped kitchen. We rent and these are brand new apartments, so we didn't want to attach any safety latches to the cabinets and appliances. So we bought this gate! Easy to install and very sturdy:) My son is a climber and hasn't been able to figure out how to get over, I think it is because of the mesh. One negative, that was probably just a fluke was there was no installation manual, but it was so easy with little parts that it didn't matter. If you are in need of a good quality gate, to keep your little one safe. I would recommend this gate to anyone!
