Love the dual controls. We have a therm-a-pedic mattress, but like to keep our room cold. The mattress has to be warm to function properly. This was exactly what we needed!! Buy it...it's great. Do get a mattress pad to cover it..though..you will be glad you did. Thanks.

After using a Sunbeam electric blanket that started heating in only some sections after a couple years, we were looking for a replacement that could handle having stuff (like blankets) on top of it and still work. We've been very happy with the mattress pad after using it for the past month. We use our spare set of sheets as a mattress "cover" under our regular sheets and don't feel any wires or bumps from the electric pad. We tend to use the preheat function about a half hour to an hour before bed and it has heated up well. The one night we forgot it, it took about 15 minutes to begin to feel it. We have not needed to keep it very high at all - husband uses it at Low while I, who am small and have a hard time staying warm, have been happy preheating it to 4 and then turning it down between Low and 2. The dual controls are a must for us and the buttons are much easier to use than the dial on the blanket. The auto-cut off (after 10 hours) is nice. Another big plus is that if you have a Sleep Number bed, the mattress pad warms the air in the mattress and stays warm, something the electric blanket never did. The only con I have is that the heating elements don't cover the last 6-8 inches of the mattress at the top and bottom. I'm used to getting way down under the covers and the cold line at the bottom was a bit of a shock the first night. Having said that, it wasn't much of an adjustment to start sleeping closer to the top of the bed and it hasn't been an issue at all for my much taller husband. It was hard to find in the stores, but we ended up ordering it here and using the ship-to-store function to save shipping. That was a nice perk and it arrived at the store for pickup long before they estimated it would - a couple days instead of a week and a half. All in all, we have been very happy with the purchase and found it much nicer than the electric blanket.

Owned it for 4 weeks. It is the best invention ever. I live in New England in a drafty old house, and found it to be absolutely wonderful. Can't feel the wires at all. Stopped using the 2 quilts and down comforter combo, now just use the down comforter, and most times I'll wake up to find that I've thrown that off of me. Why didn't I find out about this product sooner?

I'm very pleased because it does keep me warm. The highest setting for me is just to preheat the bed. Otherwise 7 is plenty warm enough for me under the coldest conditions. I put a blanket on the mattress pad so I don't feel the wires. It looks good and I don't have to worry about accidently unplugging it during the night, like with electric blankets.

I had a heated blanket but it took me a year to figure out heat rises and the blanket is on top. Bought this heated mattress and it's so nice & cozy when you get in. Heats up fast however it does not have an automatic shut off which is convenient. Otherwise, I'm happy & warm.
