This Sunbeam 3.1-cu. ft. Upright Freezer, White purchased from Walmart is a GOOD product. The price is much lower than other stores that I have checked. The operation is excellent. After letting it set overnight, washed the interior, leveled the unit, set the thermostat to 40 deg. in 4 hrs the internal temp was 20 deg. I placed all of my pre frozen homemade garden tomato sauces, tomato soups, collard greens, and broccoli di rapa in the freezer and in a couple hours the temp was at zero degrees. You can't get better results from a freezer than this one. Thanks WALMART!

I looked for a long while before purchasing the Sunbeam 3.1 cu. ft. Upright Freezer. Since I am older and have some arthritis, I didn't want to be bending and reaching into a chest freezer. So that was my first requirement. There are several models out there, but this Sunbeam at Walmart had the best price. I have not been disappointed. The freezer was delivered a day early. There was a box over the box that the freezer came in. They were both easy to remove. By slitting the tape at the bottom, the boxes easily lifted off the top. The freezer was in excellent condition, with no dents or obvious faults. I followed the directions for allowing the freezer to sit in place without being plugged in for 4 hours to allow the compressor to settle in place. Meanwhile, I cleaned the freezer inside and out with a solution of baking soda and water to remove the new smell. I also leveled the freezer by the feet. I plugged the freezer in and then I waited another 2 - 3 hours before I placed any frozen foods inside. I set the thermostat at 4. It may seem like a lot of pre-work to start using the freezer, but by doing as the manufacturer suggests I will have no problems getting service if the freezer fails. Also, I noticed the same freezer that a neighbor ordered has ice collected along the coils, and she has already had to defrost it. After several days of use I have not seen any build up of ice, so I feel certain the freezer is operating normally as it should. I am careful not to put any warm foods into the freezer because it causes the compressor to work harder. Also I limit the opening of the freezer door. And I followed the directions to allow 5" of air space on both sides and the back of the freezer. This meant the freezer takes up my entire under counter space, but if it makes the freezer operate better it is worth it to me. This freezer is quite deep and holds more than it looks like it would. I transferred all the food from my regular freezer to the Sunbeam and still had room for more. I plan to use the extra freezer space to store fruit that I freeze in summer, and soups and chilis that I make to have later. I am quite satisfied with my Sunbeam Upright Freezer. It definitely fulfills a need and is everything advertised and more. I didn't find that the thermostat being inside to be a problem as some have mentioned.

This Sunbeam freezer was much more reasonably priced than others I could find on-line. We needed only a little bit more capacity than our refrigerator-freezer provided. The item arrived in perfect condition. The two fixed shelves divide the inside into three areas of varying heights. As we have had the unit for only a few weeks, I can't speak to its durability. It is working well at the moment, keeping our food items solidly frozen.
