Super Close Shave Formula (Jar) 8oz

My wife purchased this as a gift for me after reading the product description on the website. Let me start with this; when you first put it on your face, it feels great! The menthol is refreshing and wakes you up! But the joy stops there. The cream does not produce a decent lather. Rather, it's just a thick cream that smears across your skin no matter if you follow manufacture application directions or try it another way. Wet face, dry face, wetter face, there is just no lather! Then comes the shave. Short strokes in the direction of the hair and rinse often with warm water; you let me know if you're able to get that cream out of your blades without a fight after every stroke of the blade. This cream does nothing but clog the razor up, unable to get the cream out between strokes, it makes the shave worse than regular gel shaving cream. I spend more time trying to clean the blades than I do with blade to face enjoying an actual close and refreshing shave...then I have to clean the brush. You get the idea. I'm in the military and my 18 years of daily shaving have led me to enjoy certain, luxurious products that make me and my face look and feel fantastic and this product just isn't one of them. To each their own but this product is not for me.

Wonderful feeling before and after shaving! Creamy, yet not too much, vibrant with scent, but not overpowering. I look forward to shaving each day with this cream! Thank you!

I was using Jack Black skin care for 14 years. I switched to Kiehl's for about 4 years. Then the ART Of Shaving for the last 4 months. When I found Baxter of California it was a revaluation in shaving for me! I will never switch again, I found the perfect shaving cream and products for me!

Bought this shaving cream as I use many of the other BoC products and love them. However, this shaving cream is by the far the worst shaving creaming I have ever attempted to use. The Fresh scent is the only thing going for this product. As others have suggested this product does not lather at all. I tried many times with my shave brush to get a lather, but it was unsuccessful. When you directly apply it to your face it clogs your safety razor. I am disappointed this product did not work out.

I didn't read the reviews before purchase. I use a few other Baxter's products with great results. But, I was very disappointed in the lather (or lack thereof) for this product. I normally use Truefitt & Hill shave cream, which has exceptional lather. Same with Jack Black. I tried this shave cream because of the brand. I use silver tip badger shave brush. And could not get the cream to produce any lather. It basically just wipes on your skin. The shave was ok. However, because there is no lather, the cream does clog up my safety razor.
