IT WORKS, COULD BE BETTER
It works as well as the name brand and MUCH cheaper
I used this to remove 5 years of grease and dirt from my Mazda 3's engine. I followed the instructions closely, wrapped all the electrical, air, and sensitive parts. I coated the engine in a nice even coat. One can was enough for the whole engine, including the underside of the hood. After waiting 5 minutes, I washed it off with a low-pressure power washer. It came off super easy. I had to hand clean a few parts, mostly just the stuff that I wrapped in plastic. There was a bit of chemical odour in the cabin for about an hour or so, but it has since dissipated. I am amazed, this stuff is magic!
It works okay if you spray it on, scrub the part pretty good with a toothbrush, and then wipe it off with paper towels. About three passes like that and it cleans up stuff pretty good. But DO NOT use it as a solvent or degreaser that you can soak parts in--in those cases it acts as a rust accelerant. I had some original crank bolts I was trying to clean up, so I put them in a bowl and sprayed a lot of this on. I thought soaking them would help. About 2 hours later I came back and the bolts had a lot of rust on them. So then I had to try and get it all back off. I also sprayed this product in my engine's crank bolt holes (since this stuff does pretty good at pushing greasy dirt out of holes as it foams) but forgot I had put it in there (failed to wipe it out). Next day I had a ton of rust in the crank bolt holes! NOT fun. = ( So use it ONLY as directed or using the method I described above, with a brush of some kind to scrub dirt and grease after which you wipe it away with paper towels.
Cheaper than Gunk, now I now why. Sprays a nice layer of foam down but does not even soften the light grease build up enough to wipe off. I would not recommend.
