I purchased this duvet for my king size LLBean superwarm down comforter, which has high loft and is rather oversized. The duvet cover fit perfectly, with plenty of room for the entire comforter to lay flat, unlike my previous duvet cover, which bunched up the comforter on the sides. The thread count and finish of this duvet cover is soft and satiny smooth, which feels wonderful to the touch, and has a subtle sheen. As the duvet is roomy, it was very easy and quick to put it on my comforter, and once in place, does not seem to allow the comforter to shift in any way. I purchased the plum color, which is a deep, rich eggplant hue~just beautiful! It also came with 2 matching king size pillow shams as well~a nice bonus! A high-quality duvet cover like this would be priced at over $200 at one of the big box linen stores. I will definitely be considering additional purchases of more colors of this duvet cover in the future.
I ordered this duvet cover with accompanying pillow covers to help protect my majorly fave Laura Ashley comforter from too much more wear and tear, too frequent trips through the washer and dryer. The cotton fabric is a tight satiny weave with a shimmery finish. I realize the concept is to protect the duvet or comforter or whatever you've buttoned into the envelope cover, thus the densely woven fabric that won't let a speck of anything get through to whatever's underneath. This duvet cover is very VERY heavy to lift and adds an uncomfortable amount of weight to the piece (quilt, duvet, comforter) it encloses. In short, despite its high quality, the extra weight makes it not the best choice for the purpose I intended. It would be best for me to stitch three sides of a couple of sheets together and add snaps or buttons to the fourth side. The ' Taupe' color is a rich, very slightly reddish brown that reminds me of hot chocolate or cocoa, or maybe a blended coffee drink. Upon googling taupe I discovered many different tans and browns answer to ' taupe.' A Pantone chart had 18 different taupes, with some very red, some golden tan, brownish gray, mid-tan.
This is the second round of sheets/duvet covers I've bought from this company. Clearly I love them or I wouldn't have come back. I'm such a texture fiend and I love how soft these products feel and how they're able to keep me cool at night. I will note the duvet color is the slightest bit different in its shade of white compared to the pillows cases, but I doubt anyone else would notice as my job is noticing slight nuances between colors. Hopefully these will last, definitely worth the investment.
I think the cotton will soften up after a few washings. It doesn?? have duvet ties in the corners which is too bad. I?? going sew in my own. They are essential to keep the duvet in place inside the cover. The shams are a weird size. Don?? match any pillow I own. The purple color is rich
I got quite a few fibers upon washing this duvet. The fabric has a nice sheen and color afterward. The seams need to be finished off by either thread tacking (sewing) or fabric glue. Otherwise the serged seam endings will unravel by washing and usage. I also sewed in some fabric tape to each corner to hold the corners of the comforter inside. No attachment has been provided. Otherwise very happy with the looks of the cover. Since I am a sewer, I am quite satisfied with the low cost of this duvet and the little time it took to adapt to my needs.
