These are silicone heavy duty tongs. The top is all metal perfect for grilling And such. These will not break and will last a long time. I'm glad I got these.

We have all used tongs before, but these tongs were great! The knob at the top releases spring action opening of the tongs, which ope to about 6" so you can pick up a whole chicken out of a baking pan or ff the grill. The rubber at the top of the tongs blocks out heat that may travel up the tong and also gives a better grip. The teeth of the tong are not stick-resistant, but come clean easily or in the dishwasher. To close the tong to fit in the silverware section of a dishwasher or for compact storage, you just pull up on the ring at the top, which also allows you to hang the utensil in the kitchen or off the side of a grill

*T-Fal Locking Tongs * I tossed out my old rusty tongs recently and unpacked my new T-Fal Locking Tongs. The sleek stainless steel design with red rubber grips was attractive and easy to handle. The rubber grips protect your hands from the heat traveling from the food through the tongs through conduction. *Locking the Tongs* I like the design of my new tongs since the locking mechanism is simply holding the tongs together with one hand and pushing the circular ring at the top into the joint. The tongs pop open! When wanting to close the tongs, close the tongs together and pull out on the circular ring at the top, and it locks! It is so simple. *Easy to Clean* I love how the tongs are easy to clean and are dishwasher safe. If anything is stuck on the clamps, I can wipe with a dish cloth first, then place in the top rack of my dishwasher. I can expect a clean tong when it is finished cleaning. *Great Foods Uses* My family and I have used these tongs for a variety of uses such as picking up french fries, spaghetti, hamburger patties, salads, dinner rolls, steaks, chicken breasts, and fish fillets. There are so many different types of foods these tongs would be helpful with gripping and placing on a plate. After using, clean, lock, and hang by the circular hook hole on any utensil holder. I found that very convenient! *Cons* The tongs are light metal and not very heavy duty, so be careful with dropping as I could see them getting damaged fairly easily on my floors. My old tongs were much more durable and heavy duty, but they were not dish washer safe like these. I remember how often our old tongs were dropped for one reason or another in the past, so I thought I'd mention this. I will be extra careful with these.

This tong is a great tong for indoor use, as well as outdoor grill use. The length is good for reaching hot foods on the grill and indoors in skillets. I like the gripping on the tongs, too. It washes well and is easy to hold on to foods while moving them from pans to plates. Overall, great little kitchen tool.
