I swithced from a Samsung Galaxy Captivate on AT & T to the Samsung Exhibit II Prepaid phone to cut down on monthly costs. I had to step down from a 4" screen to a 3.75" screen and thought that might be a problem but not really at all. I did have to step down from a 5 megapixel camera to a 3 megapixel camera, but this is a phone not a camera so that did not bother me at either. I paid with tx about $32 a month as compared with $77 a month and the plan and the phone fir me much better. Totally happy with the phone's performance and with T-Mobile.

I got this phone and I have been so happy with it ever since I opened the package! The Apps work great, it comes with a bunch of great features, and the screen is bright and clear! Very great investment! It's definitely worth the money! :)

I purchased this via web, and had difficulties setting it up with TMobile. When I followed the instructions on TMobile website, I was informed that the SIM card number (which comes in the same package as the phone) was somehow defective; at one point I think a customer service rep (in India or somewhere, but spoke English very well) told me it was, "not verified" or something. This forced a trip to a TMobile store to obtain a new SIM card. I also had trouble transferring my number from an existing contract carrier over to this phone. I tried to address that issue at the same time. One TMobile rep was great, no problems, and attempted the transfer for me after giving me a new SIM card, free of charge. However, I had to go back to the same store a week later when I realized that AT&T had refused to release my number (I had apparently given them our land line account number rather than our wireless account number and I screwed things up) and this time, some different TMobile reps were downright rude and unhelpful. They claimed there was no way to transfer my number to the Walmart Exhibit phone I received, because it had no number itself. (I pointed out to them that one of the other TMobile guy at the store had figured it out the week before, to no avail.) They told me I would have to go to Walmart to get the number transferred. It is clear to me that cell phone vendors are like car salesmen. If you aren't going to give them a lot of profit, they aren't interested in assisting you. (While I was in the store, they were busy upselling some giant plan to a couple that was far more expensive than what I got via internet from Walmart.) Since TMobile folks were now unhelpful, this forced a trip to Walmart, where 2 excellent customer service reps (at the North Austin IH35 location--Connie and Julian) helped me out and got it set up. I am not sure if Connie just talked to the right customer service people at TMobile or if she assigned a temporary number to the phone first, or what happened. My husband also ordered a phone (Galaxy S 2) and TMbbile $30 plan via Walmart. His phone and SIM card worked, but his PIN number to get service started on the $30 TMobile plan (which we also ordered from Walmart when we ordered our phones, and which generates an email to you with a PIN number to get it started) did not work. He just started it, and he was eager to get started, so I think he just bought something different to get it started and is going to figure out how to get the PIN in the email to work for next month's service. Phone itself, and internet seem to be doing great, although my phone has only been active a few days. BTW, TMobile rep told us the Walmart Samsung Tmobile devices are the same as those sold by TMobile. While there are different versions of say, Samsung Galaxy S 2 by Carrier, the ones by TMobile are the same regardless of where you purchase them. So, while this is a great plan, there seem to be some bugs in the setup. Obviously, neither my husband nor I had a positive experience with that. Keep all your paperwork and boxes together, and throw nothing away. Be prepared to deal with some frustration and to drive to some Walmart or TMobile stores.

This is my first smart phone, so I don’t have much to compare with. However, for a pre-paid phone, I think it is very good. A quality Android phone for $150 is a good deal. I use it with Walmart family plan, which is discounted T-Mobile service, so it is not the best there is. I had it only for few days, so I am still learning. So far the phone is excellent. My only issue is the short battery life and the bloatware that can’t be deleted without rooting the phone. The camera is not that great, which is one of the negative aspect of this phone. Overall, the phone is good and worth the price. Pros: small size, excellent reception and calls clarity, endless apps from Google market place, front and back camera with flash, micro SD card, and can do pretty much everything more expensive phone can do. Cons: Very short battery life (won’t even last a day with regular use), many bloatware that can’t be removed without rooting the phone, and low quality camera.

Phone is just as nice as the higher priced "contract" phones. Great for my teen daughter. Easy to set up and use. She doesn't talk much on a phone but loves to text and use Youtube and facebook, so I chose the $30/month unlimited text and web with 100 minutes of talk...perfect for her and easy on my wallet!! I went to the Walmart store to purchase this phone and it was $179. I paid $149 for it on Walmart online. I used standard shipping the week before Christmas and it was delivered to my door within 48 hours of my purchase! No complaints so far!
