My first set was received as a promotional. Since then I have purchased two more sets as gifts. Love that the scissors come apart for easy cleaning and also the bottle cap opener The knives are sharp enough for my needs. There are three colors to choose from.
I really struggled with how to rate this knife. The first thing I did was run it under water and see how slippery the handle would be. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it stayed pretty good, and it is thick enough to be comfortable in my hands, but might be too small for very large hands. The height of the blade is sufficient to easily keep your knuckles off the surface, but since it really cuts best with a full tip-to-handle, start-high-end-low slide, that should mostly be a moot point. This knife is definitely not for delicate work, and even though the description mentioned the serrated blade being good for breads, I did not find this to be so. Once I got the hang of the slicing motion, I was able to make thin slices of tomato, and was able to use it fairly well to cut onions and green peppers. I have yet to test it on things like squash and small melons, but expect it to brut through those rinds fairly easily. I have also not tested it much with meats so can't speak to that, but it will power through a mostly frozen chub of breakfast sausage pretty well. I could not find it on the website, but none of Tasty's products seem to have a high price-point so I don't expect it to break the bank. I would consider recommending it to a friend, but it would depend on if they cook much, or have a lot of experience in the kitchen - I would not recommend this to someone who is basically a mix-master.
I loved this knife. It cut precisely and effortlessly. I cut tomatoes, cucumber, leaves vegetables, apple, pear...etc. literally everything. I used it to cut meet, it did great job. I loved this cover for the blade this makes it great for picnics. Very elegant look. This metal handle is the best as one piece blade. What really make it awesome is that it cut loaf bread, cakes so nice makes me want to buy 6 or 7 pieces to enjoy my kitchen. I recommend to family and friends, and want to buy more so badly.
Upon grabbing this knife, I was impressed at the weight of it. Heavy duty and very solid. I haven't seen a knife with a wavy shaped blade before but this thing is great. It gets all sides of what you're cutting easily. I cut through a head of cabbage with ease. Usually my flat edged knives get stuck in a head of cabbage. Not this knife! Now I'm not sure how you'd sharpen it or if you'd even have to but it comes super sharp and ready to slice. Love it!
Although the knife was very sharp. I found it hard to use. There is a red edge on the front blade and back blade. I'm sure this is for rocking motion of the knife. I'm sure if your proficient in your knife skills it makes perfect sense, but I am not. It chopped an onion fast and sliced right through a tomato. Packing was very easy to open. Also comes with a very nice knife case.
