Tasty Stainless Steel Megatoku Oversized Santoku Knife, 3.2" Blade, Tasty Blue, 2 Piece

I took 1 star away for not being a high grade of stainless steel and another for having to dry them by hand after each wash. I noticed rust on the top is the paring knife and the tip. Then rust on the blade and top of the large knife. To remove the rust I used a green scott scouring pad and from then after I dry them immediately after each use. I haven't had any problems with the Scissors and i dry those after use as well. I do like the guards, that's the only plus. I'll keep them until I can find better quality knives.

I received the set of knives, but wasn't able to try them for a while. I've been wanting to get al chef's knife. So glad this set included one. The knives are great, very sharp. Each one comes with a blade cover to protect the knife and prevent accidentally cuts. Unfortunately, before I got to try all of them, something happened to my right hand and arm. I still can't use it properly. I am very right handed. But have learned to do some things left handed. Which included using these knives. Due to their sharp blades, I was able to cut vegetables for salad left handed. That's a big plus for me. My only concern was the kitchen sissors included in the set. If you open them all the way, the blades come apart. See photo. However, after experimenting, I found they work fine for what is their intended purpose. They will easilly snip fresh herbs, open plastic steam bags, etc. I had some assistance last week, without me realizing until too late, they put the two smaller knives in the dishwasher. The packaging stays not to wash in the dishwasher. I understood It was due to the handles. But it didn't harm them. Although, they don't seem to be as sharp after that.. It's best to wash by hand and always store in the blade covers. All things considered, I would recommend this product and gave it a 4 star rating.

This is an impressive kitchen knife. It is beautiful and made well. The protective sheath keeps it safe in the drawer, as well as my fingers safe from it. It is easy to wash and does wonders on fruit, veggies and fresh french bread. The only thing I didn't succeed with was raw chicken. It feels good in my hand; balanced, not too heavy or light. It is serrated and slices without any issues. I hand wash it, but I do all my silverware. I have pans from the Tasty brand and have been impressed with those. I think I have found my favorite new kitchen brand.

This stainless steel kitchen knife and shears set is an absolute must of you are just starting out on purchasing kitchen supplies for every day use. You can never have enough knives if you cook and prepare various meals on a regular basis and these fit the bill for use on a versatile amount of lunch and dinner recipes. The knives and sheers have nice, sharp blades that are sturdy and seem like they will last for a very long time. I like that the knives come with sleeves so that me or my kids don't have to worry about getting cut by the sharpness while we are searching the drawers for utensils; I think that every kitchen knife set should include the sleeves on them to prevent terrible cuts/accidents from happening. The grips are nice and comfortable and allow me to get a nice firm hold onto the knives while I am cutting. I also like that it doesn't very much effort to cut through my meats, such as briskets and whole chickens; carving is much smoother than it used to be with other brands of knives that I have used. This is my first time to ever use the Tasty brand of kitchen tools and I think they did a really great job making this set a high quality one. This is overall a great set and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good set of kitchen knives and shears.

The Tasty Megatoku knife is an oversized santoku blade. It is made from high-carbon stainless steel with a scalloped blade. I really like that the blade and handle are all one piece. The red on the handle is part of it, not a coating so I expect there to be no flaking like I've experienced with some other knives, nor will there be any problems with the blade and handle connection since it is one piece. It is very comfortable to hold. This also comes with a matching plastic red cover to protect the blade when it is not in use. This allows me to be able to safely store it in a drawer. I can use this blade to chop fruits and vegetables with ease and it cut through the core of a head of cabbage with no problems. It makes quick work of all my kitchen prep and I can make many delicious recipes with a sharp blade and chopping everything. As with all my knives, I hand wash this as soon as I am done with it. To maintain the best of the blade I do not put it in the sink and I dry it with a towel before putting it away.
