I worried I'd need to build a support superstructure or major fencing, but I just cut the length I needed with kitchen shears and simply draped it over my tomato cages, anchoring the bottom with a few bricks. Deer immediately left my garden alone! I may finally get some tomatoes!
I haven't put it up yet but it sure does look like it'll do what it's supposed to do! Seems tall enough, rugged enough, and looks like it'll blend well with the landscape which is a huge plus. I am planning on hanging the Gardeners Supply Deer Repellent Soap sacks off of it at the top.
I did not use this to keep deer out of my garden, I hav an electric fence for that. I use three(one on the two sides and then one across the top) of them to protect my watermelons from the crows. I use poles to fasten the nets to with zip ties and earth stakes to hold to the ground. So far it has worked. I think I have heard the crows cursing the net, but so far they have stayed away from my watermelons.
I use this fencing to make large outdoor pens for my chickens. I use chicken wire or galvanized fencing at the bottom 18" and on the ground around the pen to keep predators from breaking through the fence or digging under it. It keeps the chickens in and is much cheaper than using wire fencing for the whole pen. Also, it is less permanent and easier to dismantle or move.
We tried other Gardner Supply products to keep Deer out of our Ohio garden. Chemicals and motion detector-based gadgets had limited localized effects on particular plants at certain times of the season, but as feeding habits change, everything is in jeopardy. The only sure-fire protection is to keep the deer out. We used Gardner Supply Bamboo stakes for supports and dollar-store tie-wraps to lash the stakes to metal poles and the deer fence to the bamboo. It has worked very effectively. Economical compared to rigid fencing
