Tetra Laborett Master Aquarium Water Test Kit

We're new to freshwater aquariums, and learned the hard way (dying fish) that water testing is an important part of keeping your tank healthy. There's a lot of test kits on the market, many for much more money, but this has everything you need. PH, NO2, NO3/4, regular hardness, and carbonic hardness. My only concern going forward is getting replacement chemicals. That said, it's an essential part of your toolbox.

Other test kits available locally are about twice the cost of this kit, so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. This kit does Nitrate/Nitrite, pH, Ammonia, General Hardness, etc. It does most of the tests you need to do to figure out what is going on with your water - freshwater or saltwater. The syringe-like thing is a nice addition for getting water into the test vials (there are two test vials so you can run two tests simultaneously). Really good value and a needed resource for the home aquarium.

I bought this test kit because it was a lot cheaper than other water test kits. I spent about fifteen dollars less than if I bought from a local pet store. This Tetra freshwater test kit contains tests for freshwater and saltwater PH, GH, KH, Ammonia, and Nitrite. It DOES NOT have a test for Nitrate. (When I bought this on Walmart.com a few other reviewers claimed it came with nitrate, but it does not) There are two plastic test vials with lids and a water withdrawal syringe. I really like the syringe because it makes it very easy to take out water. The color scales are laminated so if they get wet you can just wipe them off. Using the test kit is super easy and it only takes a few minutes. This water test kit is necessary if you wish to keep your fish healthy. It took about one week for me to receive the package for in store pick up. Overall, I do recommend this freshwater test kit, but if you really want nitrate then you will have to buy that test separately.

If you are anything like me this is a great thing to have. I am still learning all the dos and donts about how to take care of my fish... I have killed many in the prossess =( this has saved my fish. Works great and is cheaper than some of the other stuff out there..

I ordered this test kit through the site to store (which was a great service). The kit tests everything I need for my aquarium and is easy to use. The directions are clear and the result cards are easy to read. Getting this kit from Wal-mart saved me money as well. If you need a test kit, you should consider this one.
