Teva Men's Terra Fi 5 Universal Sandal RAVINE TOTAL ECLIPSE

I've owned 2 pairs of Teva's since I started wearing sandles 30 years ago. I've tried the Terra Fi 5 around the house. I just can't get confortable with them. There's an arch support now that I can't quite line up with my feet. The triangle on the inside of the ankles isn't comfortable and it looks like the will wear through quickly. I like to keep my sandles loose on the top but tight front to back to keep my feet from overheating. I can't seem to do that with these and have to keep tight on all sides because there's no clip to hold the settings...so my feet are overheating. I might have to return and go with a different brand.

My husband has been wearing Teva sandals for 20 years. He loves them. He still has at least four pairs . I would love to say that his last two very old pairs are breaking down. That's how age goes I guess. These two pair are about five years old and swimming in thesltwater and hiking paths everywhere we go. Thanks for a tough versatile shoe.

I used to get the Minam sandals but I found the rear strap would always break -- usually after trail use. I decided to give this one a try. It definitely looks very heavy duty, its a bit heavier than the Minam, but it is still very comfortable. This is now my favorite and I will be buying it again.

I owned my Terra Fi shoes for 3 months and had walked only about 50km in them. While walking on a flat concrete surface the strap pulled out of the sole. I was shocked for two reason - 1) I always thought Teva's claim to fame was that the straps went all the way under and through the sole so the strap would be reliable and not break, and 2) the shoes had hardly any load on them so broke under easy conditions. I reported the problem to Teva customer support on Twitter as I'm currently traveling in Thailand. Teva customer support, to their commendable credit, organised a new pair to be sent out to me which I am thankful for but I now have no confidence to wear these shoes on a hike as I have seen how they are made and fear they will break under load and possibly cause an injury. As an engineer myself I was dismayed at the anchoring mechanism used for the strap. At the end of the day I think the design manager should be fired for allowing this to happen, or if the design manager tried to preserve quality but was overruled by executive management, then someone there needs to take the fall. I am sure there will be hundreds if not thousands of returns of these shoes.

I have owned a few pair of Terra Fi 5's over the years. They are my favorite sport sandal of any brand, including Teva. They wear very well and are as comfortable for walking or hiking as a good running shoe. I Well worth the price hike over the other Teva models. I only wish they offered them in a larger color selection.
