Thomson RCA RP5400 Clock Radio

Picked this one out based on the price and the dual alarm. I was pleasantly surprised to find a bunch of extra features. There's a variable length snooze feature, a "nap" alarm and ascending volume music wake. The large numbers are a plus. I didn't see from the web photos that the top plastic is a shade of dark green -- it looked all black to me. Other than the color, this clock radio is a solid bet.

My wife and I needed separate alarms because she gets up earlier than I do. This satisfied that problem. Alarm times are very easy to setup and has a nice rev/fwd feature in case you pass your target time (you don't have to go all the way around again!). The only real issue that we have with this clock is that the on/off button (to shut off the alarm and keep it automatically set for the next day) MUST be hit while the alarm is going off. If you hit snooze and then get up a minute later, you have to cycle through the alarm 1 (or 2) "set" button. It's minor, but worth mentioning!

This clock is terrific! It has 2 different wake-up settings, so if you and your spouse get up at different times in the the morning, or you want to wake up at a different time on the weekend, you can program that in. It also allows both wake-up times to select between buzzer or music (and the buzzer isn't going to blow you out of bed!) You can choose between high and low beam on the digital clock so it doesn't have to light up the room. The only thing I would want different is to have a read digital read-out rather than the blue.

This clock is a great deal at its price! The two separate alarm settings (being able to set two different times at once) are extremely helpful and useful. It beats having to reset the alarm time every time you need to wake up at a different time! And with the forward and backward buttons, setting the alarms and time is a lot easier than it used to be. My only disappointment was the alarm volume. I like how it slowly works up to the loudest volume, but its loudest isn't that loud and doesn't wake me. If you're a deep sleeper, I recommend putting the alarm on radio awake. That is more than loud enough. All in all, it's a great product with a surprisingly low price!

For the price, you cannot beat this alarm clock. It is so easy to use. It has so many great features. It does what it says it does. It's stylish. I love the nap feature. I love the fact that you can set 2 different alarm times. I love that you can set the alarm for beeping or the radio. I love that the beeping sound gradually gets louder. I love the sleep function. I love that you can dim the light on the display. I love the backup battery. I love it all!!! You CANNOT get better features that this for the price. If it lasts only a year, it is worth it.
