With TomTom XL, the attractive EasyPort mount can be left on the device and folded flat after use. The complete unit, including the mount, is then small enough to fit into a shirt pocket or bag when you leave the vehicle. In addition, the TomTom XL is equipped with a completely revised audio system so that navigation instructions are even more loud and clear at all times even above outside traffic noise or a car full of excited children.

I owned this GPS for two days! even though its pretty good as an GPS, I wasn't able to stick it in the windshield. Sucktion mount that comes with this GPS is not effective. Its really hard to get it up on the windshield, and if you manage to do it, it falls down every few minutes.

A friend of mine had a GPS that would tell you if you've taken a wrong turn, and prompted you to turn around. This device does not do that. Instead the GPS takes about 5 seconds to find an alternative route, such if you take a wrong turn. It won't say you've taken a wrong turn. I can't find a single thing wrong with this. I've never owned a GPS before and am terrible with directions. It doesn't take long for it to connect to satellites, and once that is done, you're good to go. This thing is really amazing and is one of my best investments yet. There are obviously two ways of using it - voice commands and the screen. If you can't look at the screen, then the commands tell you how far you have to go, and what side of the road (if you are in multi-lane traffic) to stay on. I suppose my only complaint would be about the power button. It seems a little soft and doesn't really click when pushed down to let you know contact has been made. There is a very small click on contact, but it's not a huge deal. It has frozen on me once, by not turning on, but I took it through a rigorous test. I read in forums to hold down the power button for 15 seconds to Reset it. The reset does not delete your Favorites or other personal preferences...or that I can tell. Other than that, I love this device. I figured it out in less than a day, and only referred to the manual to see if a complete charge before use is needed - it does not say that, so you can use it right out of the box. I'm sure it functions just like a cell phone in regards to reception. If you are in a dead zone, even your cell phone won't help you, and a good road map will come in handy. Any electronic device is reliable 99.99% of the time.

I LOVE my TomTom XL 330! It's extremely easy to use. It was ready to go minutes after pulling it out of the package. In fact, the hardest part of it was GETTING it out of the package. It's very portable, which was important to me, and I had no trouble getting a signal. We took it on a recent trip to Orlando, FL. We took it everywhere and it never steered us wrong. I love the wide screen and the spoken directions. It also gave a lot of useful information: arrows to point you in the right direction, street names, exit numbers and exit names, estimated time of arrival, speed limit and vehicle speed, as well as an option to avoid tolls or take the quickest route or more scenic route. It also lists points of interest, such as nearby restaurants, gas stations, etc. We found a local Cold Stone Creamery by browsing the points of interest. I could have spent twice as much, but I'm very happy witht he XL330. Overall, it's a super product and I can't wait to take it on our next weekend trip.

I tried this unit and my GPS unit I purchased 15 years ago outperformed this unit. What I hated about this GPS system the most was when you are driving and zoom out for 5 miles, this unit will change back to 0.5 miles automatically and ther is nothing you can do about it. Also the maps are poorly designed, street names are incorrect, (they want the "customer" to correct the maps!), poor user directions, and poor navigation abilities! I recomend a Garmin or Megellan unit instead for the money.

I know this post is late, but I want to let you all know the product DOES SPEAK STREET NAMES! You must choose the computer voice in order to hear the street names. Look at the size of the download next to each voice. There should only be one or two voices with much larger downloads and this is because they are computer generated and they do speak street names. The other voices are just recordings which is why they cannot speak the street names. Don't give up on this product. It's great!
