Transformers Movie Leader Optimus Prime Action Figure

This is actually a listing for the original Leader Class Optimus Prime and I recently purchased a Premium Series Leader Class Optimus Prime. The differences are that the head is more accurately styled than the original and instead of an Ion Blaster he has an energy sword like the one that he fought Bonecrusher with in the movie on the freeway. In addition, the premium series has a much better paint scheme and more accurate detail than the original production run. All in all though, the basic construction is the same and that is why I'm writing this review. This toy is incredible. The AutoMorph tech that is integrated into the toy is incredible and is clearly well thought of. I have all 5 AutoBots... Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Bumblebee. All are great and this product is no exception. Get these for your kids... they'll love them.

My son (8yrs) really enjoys this toy. He attempted to transform from robot to truck and vice-a-versa and without the use of the instructions and accomplished it. It is good for him, a lot of the electronic games that kids play now a days, there isn't much thought process involved. I enjoyed watching him tackle the challenge and the smile of accomplishment when he was finished. Cool toy!

We got this toy for our 4-year-old son, but really, it was just as much for my husband and I. We both grew up watching Transformers. My son loved his Christmas present, and we love it, too! It is too hard for him to transform, but we can do it for him without a problem. It takes a couple of minutes to transform, but it is worth it. I think a six-year-old would be able to transform it just fine. Overall, we love the toy and it is very well-made and totally worth it!

This Transformer was NOT appropriate for the age stated. It is very hard to change into the truck The child could not transform it, an adult actually did it (still not sure it's correct!). The instructions to "transform" are worthless. What a DISAPPOINTMENT on Christmas morning!!!

The age range for this toy is 5 years and older, it should be at least 10 and over. I remember when I was a kid, you could transform the Prime toy then from a semi to a robot in like 10 seconds, this takes no less then 5 minutes (and more like 1/2 hour the first couple times). Just be aware if you are buying this for a younger child, an adult will have to spend quite a bit of time changing it back and forth because a 5-8 year old is going to struggle. It is a quality toy though, very robust, cool sound effects, but just a little difficult.
