I have a similar Troy-Bilt Blower 4 cycle model: TB4SC. The blower must be at least 10 years old...used all the time...summer in lawn mowing and in fall chasing leaves. It burns non ethanol 82 octane fuel. There is some oil leakage around the carb and the fuel pump bulb. After about 16 pumps, full choke, it starts on the third pull every time. I keep expecting it to die and go the way of small high RPM gas motors...but it just keeps going! It's an amazing product.
I have had this blower for a a couple of years now. It has plenty of power and one of the things I like about it the best is it starts on the first pull every time.
Absolutely the most durable leaf blower out there. It's survived multiple hard slams into the concrete driveway as it refuses to start, refuses to stay running, and refuses to rev with out stalling. Spent well over the cost of a new blower just to try to get this one to run properly. It never ran well from the get go. I will never buy another Troy Bilt product again and plan to warn others about my experience.
My new TB4HB EC leaf blower started on the 2nd pull, right out of the box (after adding the oil and some gas, of course). I let it warm up for at least 1 minute, per instructions, and after that I didn't experience any engine hesitation when pulling on the throttle trigger. it's a powerful performer, with plenty of volume and force, easily moving the leaves, pine needles and debris off my driveway while using very little gas. It does get a little heavy after about 10 minutes of continuous use, but that is expected because of using it with 1 hand. It was built for a right-handed user (which I am)because the air intake is on the outboard side of the engine when using it that way. Your left hand can be used as a helper, if need be. I have only used this blower 2 times so far. so I can't rate its durability yet.
DEPENDABLE, WILL BUY ONLY TROYBILT LAWN EQUIPMENT.
