Twinkle 525005 Silver Cleaner/Polish Kit, 4.4 oz.

Love this silver polish. Can't find it anywhere. Found it at Walmart!!!!

I found two boxes of exactly the this same Twinkle stuff on the top shelf of my laundry room. Both had "old fashioned" stickers prices on them (but bar codes, too). Box says 1982, The Drackett Co, Cincinnati, OH., w/phone number for questions. The price on this box, virtually same weight, 4 3/8 ounces is....$1.89. The second box $1.94! Same distinctive purple Twinkle box, except instead of tea set and tray like this photo, the curved edge of a fancy silver platter from left side curving down to bottom side. Guess what? IT STILL WORKS, EVEN THE SPONGE WORKS (a little dry, I added some water)! I used it on two silver tea cups tonight, perfect results! It's 39 years old and even the sponge works! For those of you curious and savvy about bar codes, both numbers are 019800 00166 (that first zero is "raised up higher" than the other numbers, if that is significant. I'm going to call that 800 number tomorrow and tell them, I think they'll be flabbergasted! GREAT PRODUCT, IT WORKS, TOO, BABY! Great example of inflation, too. SEE YOU IN ANOTHER 39 YEARS?

Used this brand for years still as good as it always was.

A friend of mine lent me hers and, once I saw what it does, I knew I had to buy one for myself. This product does remove tarnish quickly and it's very easy to apply. I had used other products in the past and none compare to Twinkle. My online order was fulfilled by Gourmet Forte and the experience was also very positive. I bought this specifically to clean a silver plated saxophone made in 1922 and apparently not cleaned since the Depression. Half of the can is taken up with a sponge which I didn't use. I wiped the cleaner on with cotton swabs (the wood sticks with cotton tips, buy a box of 1000 because they fall apart fast) and wipe it off. No scrubbing needed. The cleaning action seems to be all chemical, and not abrasive. It can be rinsed with water but that doesn't actually seem absolutely necessary. To really dig into all the sax's seams and soldered joints would probably require disassembly and immersion in an ultrasonic bath, but that would actually make it look TOO clean; the instrument looks great with just a touch of shadowy patina in some of the hard-to-reach spots. In short, great stuff, exactly what I needed.
