I would have expected a more vibrant color but found the color to be unremarkable. As I've been using these pens in my classroom, the color doesn't need to be very bright. They write clear, rarely smear, and last a long time. I recommend these pens for most purposes.

The uni-ball 207 Retractable Gel Pens, Medium Point (0.7mm) are great. There's no ink smudge which is very important. There's nothing worse than having pen all over your hand and smudged all over your work documents. Stick with quality products from uni-ball and you won't be disappointed!
