The cable that I bought,usb3s2sat3cb do not fit into this converter. The hard drive that I have measures 5.3/4 X 4.0 inches and is from a "Desktop" computer so you have to be careful that you have the right combo.

Just plug it in tight and make sure everything's connected. Also, a sidenote, if you can't get BIOS to see your (what I used this for) DVD rom, you may need to switch it from Master to Slave device. I'd thought it was a problem with the product at first but it was just a simple mistake on my part. Great product! Great price!

I installed this and tried it with two different IDE disk drives and two different SATA ports. Would not work at all. Returned for refund.

My newer PC has a SATA hard drive, but the older one has an IDE. I haven't had to use this IDE-to-SATA converter yet, but it would be ideal in case I ever want to install a SATA drive in the older PC or vice versa.

I used this to convert an IDE hard drive to SATA. Works perfect for everyday use. It's much cheaper than buying a new hard drive.
