it doesn't get hot enough, and very little steam js are coming out. our room is still dry, and the nose is dry when waking up even when this device is beside the bed. but thr water is clearly evaporating because i fill it wjth one galon of distilled water before bed, and it goes empty before morning.
I've got three of these now and they've been performing well for over 7 years. Only maintenance is to remove tank and soak heating element in vinegar or any scale removing product at each seasons end. Next winter you are good to go with a like new humidifier! They are great for dry cracked skin or clogged sinuses/allergies. Get them for $10 less than most retailers at Walmart. Been that way for 7 years...LOL!
purchased 2 of these units, after 24/7 use they both crack and leak in about a month. contacted the manufacturer, jumped through a bunch if hoops, recieved 2 new units, they also cracked and broke and the exact same spot after about a month. i now have 4 of these humidifiers that are junk in less than one winter. dont waste your money on these ones.
Update, was reading reviews, I hear complaints with build up from hard water? Am I wrong to believe that you should be using distilled water, even if it says you can use tap water? My steam iron, hand steamer, and my CPAP machines all call for distilled water? Makes no since to use tap water? Works good using distilled, no brained to me. As a kid had to use distilled water.
I’ve had a humidifier in the past and I recently decided to get another one since I have a history of asthma and to help combat this dry winter air. I haven’t had any leaking problems yet but then again I only use this on its lowest humidity setting. The heating element helps kill 95% of bacteria and that’s a plus since I’ll realistically be using tap water for this. I know that purified water is best but hey. I do have to clean it once a week though to remove the scale buildup and I find that a combo of distilled vinegar, lemon juice and hot water work best for me.
