I bought this TV, but had to return it. Every time I used the HDMI connector, the TV would freeze and I would have to unplug the power. All the other connections worked great. Originally the picture looked "washed out", but adjusting the settings helped. The form factor is very small and thin. Other than the HDMI problem, it was a great value.
We bought this as a Christmas gift for my mother in law. We first picked up a 19 inch Sansui on the after Thanksgiving sale for a bit less than this model - about 33% less actually, but when we set it up were not overly thrilled with the overall quality of the set and picture - several digital channels were not coming in well - pixelating. Think it was the tuner strength. And there were VERY limited adjustment controls available. You get what you pay for! So we took that one back and spent a little more and got the 22 inch Vizio. Well worth the extra money. The picture was outstanding and the slight difference in screen size between the 19 inch Sansui and 22 inch Vizio actually made for a much better viewing experience in her small den. Set up was easy, no need to adjust the picture setting from the factory settings. The HD pictures were great and the Standard Def channels were fine. Sound quality was average - but very acceptable. The stand offered some slight adjustments in terms of viewing angles (up and down). The picture is not quite as good on wider viewing angles - but straight on to maybe 20 degrees off center were just fine - and in a small den that was all we needed. I am sure she will get many years of great viewing with this set. For the money I think Vizio has hit their mark of offering a quality product at a mid price point between the off brand cheap models and the Sonys of the world.
This is a wonderful product. It took many hours for us to set up though as we're not really good at these new things. Lightweight is really great. Even without the special connectors for HD, the picture is really clear. We like this tv and hope to buy another when the Living Room TV dies.
In addition to the truth of the above title, you get an excellent HD product, and at a price others should follow. But don't expect it. Customer service @ their 800 number is by far one of the very best you'll run across. No re-direct to southeast asia, but rather straight to an American in America. Resolution of concerns/problems - their focus, not the 'bottom line'. If you're looking for a 22", this is the one. No it's not the 'elite' with the best specs or the big-ticket price, but you may think so after you see it. We think it a fine HD-TV. We think you will too. If all the features is what you desire, then look at the Vizio in either 42" or 47". For the super price of less than $300, there is no other alternative set, so no need to look. This 22" Vizio surpasses expectations and one we believe you will concur with, after you receive yours. After proper review of the 22" line, the cost, the quality, the 1st rate customer service, and 'Made in the USA', no other entity even came close. Wal-Mart added the icing with the $297 price, so you have no reason to wait. Get one now before the digital switch...and enjoy!
I got this TV about a month ago and installed it in my kitchen as an HDTV and as a computer monitor. I must say that it performs well at both tasks, and the picture quality is just beautiful! For the price I paid I cannot be happier. I would recommend this product.
