The placement of this 26" TV is not optimal for me to rate it honestly, YET. It replaced a 20" regular old type and size TV, so I have not been able to position correctly as yet. It is on the wall ----almost---<grin> but not actually placed because there is a wall "thing" that was made for the old type of TV and I am waiting on someone that is coming over to place it correctly for me as it is over my head etc. etc. The picture is way too dark and I think it is because it is not tilted right. So make sure you check out the picture, ALL of the adjustments done that you need, and its position before you are sure about your purchase. There is a place for "Backlight" but it "skips" over that selection. I think I need that, so waiting to see how it is when repositioned.............that is as honest as I know.
This is my first flat screen HD TV. I needed a smaller size to fit into an entertainment center. I have only had it for 10 days but so far am very happy with it. I had to upgrade to a HD DVR cable box to get the best picture. My only minor complaint is the colors seem to fade out if you try to view the screen from much of an angle. It seems to be a very nice TV for the price. I did pay a little extra for the wall bracket that probably won't ever be used, but got the TV for $209.
This TV is super easy to set up, very light (especially as compared to my experience moving 2 similar-sized CRT TV's to install this one!) and provides a great quality picture and viewing experience. I'm really glad I bought it.
I had bought the 32" Vizio and returned it, because I did not like the sound, I own a 32" for the living room, and the sound was fine with it, but wanted a Tv for the bedroom, so the price was just 30.00 more for the 32" so purchased it and then returned it, because the sound was different then on the one in my living room...The 26" has much better sound and couldn't beat the bundle deal with the wall mount included, so saved the 30.00 plus the price of the wall mount, so I am very happy with the decision I have made for the 26", it is a great size for a bedroom...The picture quality is good, I think I just need to adjust the wall mount a little from the view from my bed, I think I just need to tilt it some, because seems a little darker than viewing from standing in room...
I compared this Vizio set with my sister's larger and more expensive Sony TV on a Uverse connection, and the Vizio had a sharper picture even with rabbit ears which are designed for HD sets now a days. I gave it 4 stars, because when it scanned for available channels (about 20 or so .. I'm not on cable) it got all the ones my old picture tube TV had, except the PBS channels. Puzzled over why it didn't pick those up. There goes my Brit coms.
