I am reviewing a Mirage Solo now, but I got this VR TEK for $20, and I opened it up. WOW! It has a LOT of components: Remote, Game Controller, plug in equipment for pc and power. Just a nice well rounded step into first VR. Just be certain your PC can push it. If not, VR Tek has as of now (21June2019) a VR Tek All-In-One for $39 and one for $59. Those require no phone to put inside unit and no pc, just a phone for your set up, and you gotta have wifi for all VR in my view or you just cannot get the games! So if your pc will push it, and you wanna try VR cheap, go for it. Soon I will tell you how it does when the test is in a the Solo, also sold by Wal Mart online.

This is an excellent headset especially for the price. It only works for games that don't need motion controllers. It's ideal for racing games which is my favorite genre. I just followed the instructions along with some additional info posted on steam forums and everything worked perfectly. The screen is sharp and gorgeous. The only downside so far is the cable length is too short for my setup but that will be fixed with extension cables. The documentation is not very detailed but it is enough to get going, the drivers and "user manual" are in the included cd. Just had to make sure everything was updated to the latest versions. The controller is serviceable and is recognized as an Xbox 360 controller in windows but it's no where near as good as console controller, which I recommend you use anyway. Again, for the price, this headset can't be beat.

I have the WVR3 model which is the best spec unit. Everything installed fairly easy and I was using SteamVR in less than 30 minutes after opening it. Screen quality is great once you adjust the straps and IPD sliders but the headphone quality using the headset port was lower than my motherboard sound (High Impedance headphones sounded weak). This is my first PC VR hardware so I don't know how it compares to others but for the price it is way better than the phone VR like Samsung and Cardboard. It also comes with a controller that feels lighter than a standard Xbox controller but functions surprisingly well with a decent battery life on wireless. Given the price and surprising screen quality alone its definitely worth the purchase.

I got this headset for the goal of using it with my Kinect through Driver4VR. It works really well for that purpose, as it gives the headset an additional use outside of seated VR gaming. The display is very nice, but the soft padding on the headset is not the best. It is sorta lumpy, there are areas where it should have foam but are not. It is held on by velcro so getting an aftermarket replacement made is not out of the question. The drivers were a bit confusing to set up. The driver software is called HoloView, and the application itself would need to be updated (not the firmware) in order to obtain the latest SteamVR drivers which fixes odd crashing issues with SteamVR. After it installed the SteamVR drivers I uninstalled the program which frees up the bloatware the software also included. The headset has a Gyroscope and Accelerometer for head tracking but there is no 6 DOF tracking. There is a USB port on the top, so an aftermarket solution for 6 DOF might work. Overall, the headset is not bad, but not completely perfect either. I think with built in 6 DOF tracking (the manufacturer actually has a 6 DOF model but isn't sold anywhere) it would be a much better headset.

I really was expecting the worst when I got the WVR2, and it is the worst... when you get it. I was already expecting the terrible fish bowl effect from the lenses, and it almost made me regret my purchase. This is actually a decent headset as long as you have a pair of scissors. The tighter you squeeze your eyes to the lenses, the clearer your peripheral vision gets. I don't recommend just tightening the straps around your head to get a better image. First I cut the padding off the nose and under the eyes out because they apply the perfect amount of pressure on your face to give you migraines. Then I cut off two patches above the eyebrows, leading about a two inch sliver in the middle for your forehead, if you do all this, it brings your face closer to the lenses while making it more comfortable to wear. The only issue is that it kinda rests mostly on your nose. The screen itself is functional, you can definitely make out the pixels, and there is glaring motion blur when you rotate your head, but if you just want this for a casual sitting experience watching... videos, or just want a first vr experience, this is leagues above google cardboard or Samsung gear. People saying buying something cheap like this will turn you off vr, but I say it will only make you want more. I would suggest going to the WVR3 though because for the extra 15 bucks you'll definitely get a better experience than with my WVR2.
