My wife and I were about to redo a room for our baby in our new house. Iv just usually used the hand rollers in the past and was wanting to try something different. I saw this and was debating on buying it and I'm glad I did. In a room similar to the one I used the smart roller I completed in easily half the time AND used half the paint I couldn't believe it. This already paid for its self, Im able to return the two cans I usually would need to finish a room when I painted by hand roller before! Being a new home owner and soon to be parents need to redo a home this is going to be a huge help once again saving me TIME and MONEY!
Purchased 2 units after watching video. Upon use I was very disappointed. First, it states you could paint 70 sq ft per tube, both units did around 20-25 sq ft per fill up. Second, it somehow consumes way too much paint. After a couple of hours of frustration, purchased old school roller and painted happily ever after.
Hi, hoping someone can help, I love this thing! But, when the paint dries I keep getting ‘flashing’ like it’s going on uneven. I’m regularly pressing the trigger to let paint out as per the manual but it keeps happening. Has anyone had this or know how to stop it?
This item eliminated the need to pour the paint into the paint tray. I still had one to kind of sat it down if i needed to use a brush or other tool. I bought a thick, one coat type paint because the walls were previously hot pink and I would say it still worked well once the paint got more fluid on the roller. I would definitely recommend and my husband seemed to like it also! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
It works very well when compared to a conventional paint roller and tray setup that costs about the same. I learned my lesson about not cleaning dried paint out of the duckbill but finished the project by placing a quarter inside the fill cap and screwing it shut. Since that time I have been rinsing the duckbill immediately after using it. My only complaint is the retainer clip for the roller, any conventional roller can slip off but when it happens to this one a small volume of paint can spill out. I would suggest a stronger retainer clip to avoid this potential mess. I do wish new duck bills were available right there in the retail isle I would buy up a bunch of them, until then I will keep the change in my pocket to seal the cap! Like ALL painting equipment it needs to be kept clean or you will have a bad experience.
