Got a new phone, and no way to use it. Seems Walmart sells phones, for thier cell plan, but have no way to activate the phone. Hard to believe. Make sure they can have this card, in hand BEFORE you buy their phone.
After watching my cell plan with Verizon increase from $70 per month to $120-$140 per month over the course of a year, I knew there had to be an alternative. Enter Walmart and their Family Mobile plan. This is what all cell providers should move to - no contract, easy activation, unlimited talk, text and data and a very reasonable $40 per month. I bought my own unlocked iPhone 6 and activated via their customer service phone support in no time at all. Have had the plan a month and so far so good. Thanks, Walmart and T-Mobile.
i looked in to everything I would need and I read it would work with the phone I had and no. no it didn't.
I bought this sim card for a spare phone I have. I just wanted a basic call and text plan to use as a backup phone. Installation was no problem, my phone works fine...but in the week I've had it, I've received 12 calls from some random place in Dallas selling car insurance or something. I haven't made any calls with this new number, nor have I put it online in any form. My other primary phone gets a telemarketer call like once every 3 months, at most. I don't know whether this is Walmart's problem, T-mobile's, my unlucky number, or what. Not cool y'all.
Great service so far, although I rarely use it outside of NYC. The one time I had it in Vermont and did have some trouble basically the entire time I was there (it did kick over to AT&T though), basically no service at all. massive savings so far from the near $100 / month I was paying to Verizon for lower limits.
