I have 2 water snakes. I just bought the 2nd. I use them in my basement bathroom as a precaution against flooding during intense rain. The original water snake helped but now that I have 2 when the shower drain overflows in a storm the water is confined to the bathroom. It's wonderful. All I have to do is dry out the water snakes no more mopping up the entire basement because the water snakes stopped the water flow.

It hasn?t really been tested yet. I have a corner of my basement that water comes in when there is a lot of rain. It was covered with a sawdust like coating. When I shook it off like the directions said, more came out from the inside. Jury is still out on it. I got another one a few years ago that I like better, but I couldn?t find it.

They were so dusty that I had to vacuum before I could use them. It would have been nice if I could have used them right from the package.

I'm giving four stars only because the item came to me obviously used and smelly! I ordered these before and they work great! However, the third-party vendor in this case sent a dirty, muddy, smelly second-hand snake that had absorbed somebody else's basement/crawl space water. So I complained and the vendor is supposed to send me a new one. So far, I haven't received it.

I use the water snake by placing it below the windshield where it joins body of my golf cart. Rain would blow in there as well as cold air in winter months. The Snake eliminates those problems since here in The Villages, Fl., we use our golf carts for much more than golfing!
