Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker Charcoal Smoker with 22-Inch

These things work just great and even better with a gasket set and door upgrade. This one replaces my first one that I lost in a fire. Weber = High Quality Stuff* *talking charcoal, no experience with pellet or gas

What I think: - Good News o I have been very happy with Weber Kettles over the years and the recent purchase of a Master Touch 22. o I understand Weber has a great warranty and support team - Bad News o My new weber smokey mountain 22 had a defect center ring o It would appear Weber does not have good quality control in place for the WSM, as the internet provides many instances of defective welds with the center section, usually quickly remedied. o In my case, it's been over a month, and I am being told it's on back order and not provided with status updates. The last one basically said “don't call us we'll call you” ….when it ships. - This survey is regards to the WSM, so I can only give it 2 stars

I seriously cannot begin to describe how easy these things are to use! I now own two! The 57 and the 37. I take one camping and to my mates when I cook for them, and the other is for at home. Super easy to use and soooo good on fuel. I set mine and can go shopping or go out for hours and not worry about it.

If you are only going to have one smoker, this is the one. It is very versatile and can handle anything you put on it. The only design flaw is that the lid fits INSIDE the body instead of like the Weber Kettle where the lid fits on the outside. This is a problem because if it happens to get rained on, all that water collects in the bottom of the smoker. I really do hope that Weber changes this in future designs. Otherwise, this smoker would get 5 stars. I would also buy a brand new one without even thinking about it.

Did a lot of research before buying so I was expecting to possibly have issues with things like the flimsy door, etc. My smoker arrived in pretty good shape, but the middle section was definitely out of round and the door was just as bad as I had read about. Weber sent me another middle section very quickly, but truthfully the replacement is just as bad as the first one was. I did my best to get it as round as possible, but it's still not as good as I think it should be. Hopefully this will improve with use. What can I say about the door, it is what it is. I know that it is not intended to seal perfectly and that some smoke leakage is fine, but there is a whole lot of room for improvement there. I'm a big Weber fan and have been using Weber kettles to grill on for a very long time. This is my first WSM and I'm really hoping that after some more tweaking here and there and more cooks on it that things will improve.
