More time spent starting than using! replaced handle, gas tank and filter as rubber tube holding filter is inside tank and rots dropping filter into tank. Cap leaks. In general the worst of the worst. Highly recommend everyone find another brand the weed eater. Just a waste of Money!

I bought one - very excited to get it home. Easy to put together. Took 10 minutes to get it to start which I thought was just a first time thing. Next day it would not start at all. I would take it back if I could. The 'fixed string' piece is also a pain. If you are working around a wall or fence the string breaks. You have to stop and fully replace the string. Don't bother getting this one - either go with battery opearated or get a better gas one.

I enjoy this model all though it's sometimes hard to start works great and you need to use a good spool cause the one that provided from factory break easy!

I bought this Weed Eater about two weeks ago. I assembled it with no trouble, mixed up the gas and oil, poured it in and cranked it up. It is cranky. I pulled it on full choke 'til it wanted to start, then pulled at half choke holding the throttle in. It ran with some roughness and too fast, but when I put it on run off half choke it died. My wife wanted us to take it back, and after reading many reviews on the internet(esp. Amazon) many people felt the same way. However, some logic showed from some reviewers. Reset the carb. It's set too lean. Get the special tool for the Poulan-Weed Eater carbs. In 10 minutes I had mine tuned up, idling and running fine. The little screwdriver like tool will set you back around $10 incl postage, but well worth it. Most of these gas operated machines will be noisy and all are messy to operate. If you buy battery op or plug in, you'll be buying another for next season. Happy Yard Work to You.

We purchased this product because it was rated highly by CR. Two parts were broken when we bought it. We contacted Weed Eater and they sent replacements right away however, after using once, we were unable to start the trimmer. Unfortunately we had to return it.
