I read SO many reviews/watched videos before trying T18 on my brown hair w/ blonde highlights. Did highlights myself, didn't leave bleach on long enough, ended up with brassy orange highlights. I was so scared that T18 would turn my highlights white, or lighten my brown base colour. Finally did it this week and I love it. I mixed it with a 20 developer, left it in for 20 mins (could have gone another 10 mins) and my highlights turned a very natural ashy blonde that blended really well with my base colour. They darkened a bit, which for me was great. In case you're not sure whether to try it, I say go for it. So glad I did! Also - only used about a third of the bottle so more for next time!
Quality control I started using only Wella products about 4 years ago. It was introduced and suggested to me by a hair stylist who used to dye my hair. At that time, it was only possible to purchase individual components and the boxed product became available about a year ago. I have been buying the boxed product and doing myself since then. In the past month I have purchased and used 3 boxes. Same color as always; however, not the same results. The first one turned my roots purple. The second box also turned purple in the bowl so I didn't try to use it. The third didn't turn purple so I applied it. I am not too sure what I would call this color but it is not a color that I want to have on my head or anything like what is on the box. Is this the quality of product which I can expect in Mexico or is this type of thing happening elsewhere????
I did not have a change to go to the salon for a touch up, so I decided to try it myself. After much reviews and tutorials, I chose to go with T18. My original hair is color is a level one with a balayage of levels 6-10. This product was easy to mix and apply with great results. I was able to remove the brass and achieve the ashy tones that my stylist was not able to. The only down side is length of wear. It has been about 2 weeks since the application and I am almost back to brass.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the 911 for years and loved it. Then it changed to 9N, still good. My most recent purchase was of 9NN. There were no other options in the 9 series so I assumed (silly me) that this was again a label change, not a product change. Product looked different coming out of the bottle and I now have light orange hair! Yuck!
I have naturally dark ash blonde hair with a few grays here and there. I've had my hair colored and highlighted some in the past, and fell in love with Wella Tango 2P over a year ago. My hair stylist has been slowly getting me back to my natural color. The brass was bothering me, not going away with special shampoo, and I thought the last set of highlights were too light, so I researched colors and got Wella Charm Gel 6AA/542 Dark Blonde Intense Ash. Much to my dismay, it turned my hair red! I look like a ginger kid! I would attempt to fix it myself, but how do I trust a product now? I would expect this from something at the grocery store. Guess I'm back to salon hair color.
