ANY bicycle seat is going to hurt if you are 1) overweight or 2) not used to riding a bike. It just takes time to get used to, but the seat on this bike isn't a bad one. Feel it--it's very soft and cushioned. I really like this bike. The reviews I read before buying it were very helpful. I think the seat gets a bad rap most of the time though. It really is a matter of getting used to it.

I bought this product at a great price and was very excited to get it home. It was easy to put together considering I put it together myself. I was using it for a couple weeks and my tailbone started hurting really bad from using it and I had previously never had any sort of back problems before. I would be in such horrible pain from it that I had a very hard time getting off it when I was done. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you would like lots of pain. Its better at gathering dust in my closet.

I'm debating about buying a replacement seat or taking the whole thing back. It gives a good workout, but the seat hurts so badly that after a single workout that I can't use it again. I now have shooting pain up my back every time I stand up or sit down.

This bike is a fantastic buy. It is true that the seat is uncomfortable, but not so much that I can't or won't use it. I am a small person, and perhaps the seat is more uncomfortable for larger or heavier people. It seems to be softening up the more I use it. I agree that stopping to take a heart rate kind of defeats the purpose of the heart rate monitor. I like the 4 different programs and find that they challenge me. The only down side is that you can't program your own workouts or timer. It was easy to put together, did so by myself in about an hour. Was missing the pedal straps, but I called their customer service number and received them in a week. The size is perfect for a small room or apartment. Not noisy at all, very easy to watch TV without having to crank the volume. Found the bike at a local Walmart for $117. If you're looking for a way to get in some cardio at home, this bike fits the bill. The way I see it, $117 won't buy much of a gym membership, and it appears that I will get my money's worth from this bike.

This bike is really great. The resistance isn't the most, but since I do interval training (slow for 1 minute, very hard for 1 minute off and on), this bike works great. Put it on 3 for the rest interval and put it on 10 for the hard interval and see if you don't see some changes in your fat level. And this this is QUIET! That is the best thing, you don't even have to turn up the TV when you are working out. There is really only one main issue with the bike, but is isn't enough to knock it down from an Excellent rating. The seat is terribly uncomfortable, rock hard and not great for riding more than 2 minutes. When you are buying this bike, make sure to get a small square, thick pillow to use as a cushion. They cost $5 or something and work great. All in all, a wonderful product at a fantastic price.
