I have had this oven for over a year and, every time I open it to check on the food, the vapor that exits the oven activates the touchscreen. I cannot count the times the oven turned off, changes temperature, reset the timer, etc. My Thanksgiving meal was delayed by 2 hours because a helpful family member opened the oven to turn the potatoes and the oven turned off. Had Whirlpool baked in this oven once to test it, the touchscreen would never have been approved.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] WE bought this as a display model and only were able to use it for a couple months before we started noticing problems with it. The control panel gets very touchy and the self-cleaning portion doesn't work as well as I imagined it may.

This oven came with the new home we just purchased. I bake for a living and this oven is the worst I have ever used. I have attempted to calibrate the oven with no success - the oven is consistently off by 25 degrees. I have 2 oven thermometers in the oven to make sure one is not faulty. The oven does not hold its temperature. It constantly says it is pre-heating, while my thermometers show it is 25 degrees higher than it should be. IF it even comes to temperature, the minute I open it to put food in, it goes down at least 30 degrees. If any steam hits the control panel when you open the door, the panel freaks out and locks up. It turns off by itself - mid bake. The control panel is a HORRIBLE design - it is not user friendly. The person who designed it obvioiusly does not cook/bake. I would NEVER buy another whirlpool appliance.

My Whirlpool double wall oven came with the new house 2.25 years ago. We used the self clean function on the lower oven. The cleaning worked but the oven would not the first time we tried, and still hasn't worked yet. The repair person said the power control unit was damaged by the self cleaning, a problem he said was common with this oven.. We are still waiting for the the power control unit, which has now been1.5 months. Enjoy the oven and features, but not the durability. Would not purchase this oven again.

control lock failure less than 2 years after install and minimal use. the screen locks and doesn't let you use the oven. the only "remedy" is to call appliance repair and among those reviews it seems half the techs don't know what they are doing. whirlpool should be sued for this garbage
